The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu, seeking approval to inaugurate its presidential campaign council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for participants at the proposed event scheduled for November 11, 2026.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhai Philip Igbinovia, the AAC said the request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.

The party asked the President to approve the inauguration ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, saying it would help prepare its campaign council for the 2027 elections.
The AAC also urged the Presidency to extend to it the same consideration reportedly given to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for participants at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement,” the letter read.
The party noted that granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access and the principle that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
It also requested information on the applicable procedures and conditions for approval.
