2027: APC Insists Uzodimma Remains Candidate For Imo West
Despite the court ruling, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has insisted that Governor Hope Uzodimma remains its candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
The party made this declaration in a statement issued on Thursday by its state Publicity Secretary, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, following a ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja that removed Uzodimma as the candidate and replaced him with former governor Rochas Okorocha.
The APC dismissed reports of Uzodimma’s removal as unverified, accusing opposition figures of circulating claims that he had been replaced as the party’s candidate.
It said Uzodimma won the party’s senatorial primary with the overwhelming support of its members.
