A former chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State and loyalist of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Samuel Nwanosike, has threatened to take the political battle for 2027 to the bedroom of former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Nwanosike issued the threat in a viral video at an event, wherein he
said that the political battle in the state would go beyond the streets, declaring that the contest would be taken to Amaechi’s “bedroom.”
The two term chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Areas, LGA, where Amaechi also hails from, accused the former minister of Transportation of failing to adequately benefit the people of Ikwerre despite holding several prominent political positions.
But an ally to Amaechi, Chief Eze Chukwuwmeka Eze, who is also a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), dismissed the threat as empty, stressing that it is only Rivers voters who are already fed up with the politics of Wike and his loyalists that will decide the outcome of the 2027 elections in the state.
Nwanosike also lamented that despite the fact that Amaechi served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, governor of the state and minister at the federal level, with the support of the Ikwerre people, he allegedly turned against some of his former allies, and failed to help the Ikwerre people.
Nwanosike said: *Amaechi was in the House of Assembly two times, Ikwerre people supported him to be governor two times and he was a minister for two tenures.
“Instead of helping the Ikwerre people, he decided to destroy even his friends. Yet he believes that it’s only him that is from the Ikwerre Local Government.”
Nwanosike also warned Amaechi and his political faction against returning to Rivers State until the Supreme Court determines which faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) should be recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We are here to tell the world and his political faction that until the Supreme Court decides which faction of the ADC is to be recognized by INEC, they should not bother coming home…We will bring the battle to their bedroom, not the street.” he stated.
Eze, who reacted to Nwanosike, condemned the manner in which he spoke to Amaechi, noting that such violent language won’t deliver electoral victory for the former council boss and his boss.
Eze said: “Nwanosike’s gutter language only portrays him from where he is coming from – the nature of the useless politics he learnt from his master, Nyesom Wike.
“The school where they are taught that it is only through violence that they can win election but this time around they will be shocked with what will hit them as every sound Rivers State son and daughter have come to the understanding that Wike and his gang of imbeciles doesn’t mean any good to the State.
“I have listened to his blast and that of his master and we are waiting for them accordingly. Amaechi brought them up politically and his political family will know how to dismantle all their vicious and evil plot against Rivers State and her people
“We are not in any way disturbed by their foolish boast as by 2027 they will come to understand that their time of foolishness has come to an end.”
