Panathinaikos Celebrate Dessers’ Match-Winning Goal Against CSKA Sofia
Panathinaikos have celebrated Cyriel Dessers’ match-winning strike against CSKA Sofia, Completesports.com reports.
Dessers came off the bench to score the decisive goal as Panathinaikos defeated their hosts 2-1 in the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round tie.
The Nigeria international, who was introduced five minutes after the hour mark, netted the winner in the fifth minute of the first half of extra time.
The Greek giants advanced to the playoff round 3-2 on aggregate after both teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Dessers had not featured for the Greens since a Greek Super League clash against Volos in December 2025.
The 31-year-old sustained an injury while on international duty with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Panathinaikos celebrated the striker’s successful return to action with a short message on their X account.
“Back like he never left,” the club wrote.
Dessers also holds a special place in UEFA Europa Conference League history. The Nigerian was the competition’s first-ever top scorer after netting 10 goals for Feyenoord during the inaugural 2021–22 season.
