Harry Kane signs new Bayern Munich contract until 2029

England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the German champions until 2029.

The 33-year-old striker was entering the final 12 months of his previous four-year deal, which he signed following his £86 million move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.

Kane has enjoyed a remarkable spell in Germany, scoring a club-record 61 goals in 51 matches last season as Bayern completed a league and cup double.

As reported by BBC Sport on Thursday, speaking after signing the new deal, Kane expressed his happiness at remaining with the Bundesliga giants.

“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said.

“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”

Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for England and Bayern during the 2025-26 campaign and was crowned the world’s best male player at the Ballon d’Or ceremony last month.

He has also registered 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga appearances, winning three consecutive Golden Boot awards and two league titles.

Since arriving in Germany, Kane has scored 156 goals in 161 matches for Bayern, while collecting five major trophies and several individual honours, including the Bundesliga Player of the Season award for 2024-25.

The England skipper has also continued to strengthen his international legacy. He is England’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 73 goals in 65 appearances, and has equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps.

At this summer’s World Cup, Kane scored six goals to become England’s leading goalscorer in the competition’s history, with 14 goals in 18 appearances.

Kane joined Bayern in 2023 determined to prove himself at the highest level after years of individual success without a major trophy at club or international level.
