  • PublishedNovember 5, 2026

The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended the youths of Kwara Central Senatorial District for the massive and peaceful rally held on Wednesday across Ilorin metropolis, describing the impressive turnout and enthusiasm as a clear demonstration of the people’s growing determination to take back the future of the state in 2027.

The rally, led by Comrade Aro Dollar, saw thousands of young boys and girls embark on peaceful marches through several streets of Ilorin, creating awareness and mobilising residents on the need to make informed political choices ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party said the massive presence of young people from different parts of Kwara Central, alongside the energy and determination they displayed, reflects the growing frustration of youth population that has borne the consequences of seven years of poor governance under the AbdulRazaq administration and is no longer timid about demanding a change of direction.

The party noted that the spontaneous participation of residents, without financial inducement or material expectations, and the steady influx of supporters from different locations into the rally, constitute a powerful political message and a referendum on seven years of government neglect, worsening insecurity and banditry, unfulfilled promises, financial wastage and misplaced priorities on projects that offer no meaningful value to ordinary citizens.

Kwara PDP maintained that no amount of questionable online polls, manufactured popularity ratings or propaganda sponsored by Governor AbdulRazaq and his agents can alter the growing public desire for change or suppress the people’s democratic will in 2027.

The party applauded Kwara central Youth leader of the party , Comrade Aro Dollar and his team for their excellent coordination, organisation and crowd management throughout the rally, noting that their commitment has further demonstrated the growing capacity of PDP’s grassroots structures to mobilise and engage the people peacefully.

It expressed satisfaction with the success of similar rallies and mobilisation activities organised by various PDP substructures across the state, particularly in Ilorin South, Ilorin East, Ilorin West and Asa Local Government Areas, describing the growing momentum as evidence of an opposition movement increasingly connecting with the people.

Kwara PDP also commended residents, especially young people, for their courage and resilience in the face of repeated attempts at intimidation by the present administration. The party noted that arrests, police invitations and harassment directed at several PDP members and supporters have neither weakened pelples resolve nor diminished their determination to pursue a democratic alternative.

The party urged the youths to sustain the peaceful mobilisation, remain law-abiding and continue engaging their communities through political education, constructive conversations and active democratic participation.

“The message from the youth rally in Ilorin yesterday is clear , Kwara people want a new direction, and our youths are increasingly taking responsibility for that future. The energy on the streets is a reminder that political power ultimately belongs to the people, and no propaganda, intimidation or manufactured popularity can override their decision when they speak through the ballot in 2027.”
