Nigeria vs Cameroon: We’re hungry as ever – Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne talks tough
Nigerian midfielder, Toni Payne, is talking tough ahead of the Super Falcons’ CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, quarter-final clash with Cameroon on Sunday evening.
Payne insisted that the Super Falcons are as hungry as ever to take the opportunity of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup by beating Cameroon.
The winner between Nigeria and Cameroon will face hosts Morocco in the WAFCON semi-final.
Speaking via CAF’s website, Payne said that every Super Falcons player is confident of overcoming Cameroon.
“Everyone is confident ahead of this game. We have an opportunity to qualify for the World Cup,” Payne said.
“We appreciate that we have had many challenges throughout this tournament, but these challenges prepare us for what happens in the future.
“I think we can appreciate the accomplishments we have made as well. We are as hungry as ever.”
