Russia warmed up for their international friendly against Nigeria on Tuesday with a convincing 6-0 victory over Namibia on Saturday.

The hosts, who held a slender 1-0 lead at half-time, produced a dominant second-half display in Yekaterinburg to seal a comfortable victory.

Lechi Sadulaev put Russia ahead in the 37th minute before Danil Prutsev extended the lead nine minutes after the restart.

Konstantin Tyukavin added a third in the 65th minute, while Maksim Glushenkov made it 4-0 with six minutes of regulation time remaining.

Maksim Petrov then converted from the spot three minutes later to put Russia five goals ahead.

Namibia’s difficult evening was compounded in stoppage time when Kamaijanda Ndisiro turned the ball into his own net to complete the rout.

Russia will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s encounter with the Super Eagles at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.

Nigeria’s most recent meeting with Russia ended in a 1-1 draw in June 2025, with Tolu Arokodare cancelling out Semi Ajayi’s own goal.
