Amid several calls for him to jettison his re-election bid, Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu has not failed Nigerians but is working to fix the country through his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Shettima, who spoke on Monday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Calabar, urged Cross River residents to re-elect President Tinubu, saying a second term would bring more projects to the state.

He noted that Tinubu’s administration was working to reposition Nigeria through difficult but necessary economic reforms, infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, and efforts to expand opportunities for young people and women.
Shettima described Cross River as strategically important to Nigeria’s economic growth, citing its potential in tourism, agriculture, maritime commerce and regional trade.
He said the state would benefit further if residents supported Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
“Cross River State occupies a strategic position in Nigeria’s economic and political landscape, with enormous potential in tourism, agriculture, maritime commerce and regional trade,” he said.
