Yilwatda Begins Two-Week Vacation

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commenced a two-week vacation outside Nigeria after what the party described as an exceptionally demanding first year in office.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC said the vacation would provide Yilwatda an opportunity to rest, rejuvenate and reflect on the party’s next phase of development ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The statement noted that since assuming office, the APC chairman has led efforts to strengthen the party’s internal structures, foster cohesion among stakeholders and oversee the successful conduct of the party’s national convention and primary elections.

According to the APC, Yilwatda will also use the period to fine-tune plans for the forthcoming National Working Committee (NWC) Retreat, which is expected to review the party’s progress and strategise for the electoral season ahead.

The party stressed that the chairman’s temporary absence would not affect its operations, as the NWC would continue to carry out its responsibilities in line with the party’s constitution.

Yilwatda is expected to return to the country at the end of the two-week break and resume official duties.
